EMWBC CLUB CONDITION OF PLAY

ETTALONG MEMORIAL WOMEN’S BOWLING CLUB

CLUB CONDITIONS GOVERNING ALL CHAMPIONSHIP/CLUB MATCHES 2018

GENERAL

 

  1. ALL GAMES WILL BE PLAYED UNDER THE LAWS OF THE SPORT OF BOWLS (including domestic regulations for Australia) ALSO CONDITIONS OF PLAY OF THE WOMEN’S BOWLS NSW.
  2. 14 DAYS NOTICE WILL BE GIVEN OF THE COMMENCEMENT OF PLAY.
  3. ALL SUCCEEDING MATCHES WILL BE WITH 7 DAYS NOTICE.
  4. ALL MATCHES WILL BE PLAYED ON OR BEFORE THE DUE DATE (THE PLAY OR FORFEIT RULE APPLIES).
  5. GAMES MAY BE PLAYED BY MUTUAL AGREEMENT ON OR BEFORE CARDED DATE IF GREEN SPACE, UMPIRE and/ or MARKER IS AVAILABLE. IF A GAME IS MOVED BY MUTUAL AGREEMENT, MATCH COMMITTEE MUST BE NOTIFIED PRIOR TO THE DATE SET DOWN. PLAY OR FORFEIT RULE STILL APPLIES.
  6. WHEN PLAYING IN DISTRICT COMPETITIONS, ANY PLAYER UNTIL ELIMINATED WILL NOT BE CARDED IN ANY OTHER CHAMPIONSHIP OR COMPETITION IN THEIR OWN CLUB. ALTERNATIVE DATES FOR PLAY WILL BE ARRANGED AS REQUIRED. THE NEW DATE BECOMES THE CARDED DATE AND PAY OR FORFEIT RULE STILL APPLIES.
  7. SKIPS MUST INFORM THE MATCH COMMITTEE AND THE UMPIRE IF REQUIRING A SUBSTITUTE OR REPLACEMENT. (The Skips are responsible for notifying their Teams).
  8. UNDER THE LAWS OF THE GAME 30 MINUTES IS ALLOWED FROM THE SET DOWN TIME TO PLAY. (Any Team not present will forfeit).
  9. ALL COMPETITORS IN A SINGLE MATCH HAVING LOST, MUST MARK THE FOLLOWING MATCH AS DRAWN. (If unavailable to mark, they MUST FIND their own replacement and notify THE MATCH COMMITTEE.
  10. ALL FORFEITS WILL BE SHOWN ON THE DRAW AS SUCH.
  11. NO CHAMPIONSHIPS WILL BE LISTED FOR PLAY ON A MEETING DAY (EXCEPT BY ARRANGEMENT). ANY MATCH POSTPONED BY INCLEMENT WEATHER WILL BE PLAYED ON THE NEXT AVAILABLE PLAYING DAY EXCLUDING MEETING DAYS. (No concessions will be made for holidays).

 

CLUB CHAMPIONSHIPS

CLUB CHAMPIONSHIPS ARE TO BE PLAYED AS FOLLOWS:

  • SINGLES 25 UP
  • PAIRS 18 ENDS FOUR BOWLS (2X2X2X2)
  • TRIPLES 18 ENDS THREE BOWLS
  • FOURS 21 ENDS

 

CONDITIONS GOVERNING MINOR CHAMPIONSHIPS

  • ANY PLAYER HAVING WON A MAJOR SINGLES OR PAIRS CHAMPIONSHIP, DISTRICT EVENT IN THIS OR ANY OTHER CLUB IS NOT ELIGIBLE TO ENTER THE MINOR CHAMPIONSHIPS, UNLESS THE MAJOR EVENT HAS BEEN WON IN THE CURRENT BOWLING YEAR.
  • WINNING THE MINOR SINGLES, YOU ARE ELIGIBLE TO ENTER THE MAJOR/MINOR PAIRS AS A MINOR.
  • TWO (2) MINORS MAY ENTER THE MAJOR/MINOR PAIRS.
  • THE POSITION OF SKIP CAN BE PLAYED BY EITHER THE MAJOR OR MINOR PLAYER

 

MINOR CHAMPIONSHIPS

MINOR COMPETITIONS ARE TO BE PLAYED AS FOLLOWS:

SINGLES 25 UP

MAJOR/MINOR PAIRS 18 ENDS/FOUR BOWLS (2X2X2X2)

CONSISTENCY 150 UP

 

TWO TRIAL ENDS ARE PERMITTED FOR ALL CHAMPIONSHIPS PRIOR TO STARTING TIME.

 

THE COMMITTEE RESERVES THE RIGHT TO ALTER THESE CONDITIONS OF PLAY IF IT IS DEEMED NECESSARY TO BRING A CHAMPIONSHIP OR COMPETITION TO A SATISFACTORY AND TIMELY CONCLUSION.
