2016 Christmas Party

Tuesday 6th December 2016 saw the ending of another bowling year, for the Ettalong Ladies Bowling Club. The tables were set with Christmas placemats, decorations, and baskets of chocolate and lollies. Our entertainer, Richard, arrived early, and was playing Christmas Carols as our ladies arrived, setting the scene for a lovely day. Under the Christmas tree, were the three raffle prizes and a very large Santa sack filled to the brim with lucky door prizes. Harry and his helpers provided us with a very nice baked dinner, and pavlova, cream, and ice cream for lunch. The Club CEO, Tim, spoke briefly. It was then that the partying began in earnest, with the ladies taking to the dance floor. We had a short break, to draw the raffle prizes. Marie Andrews was first out of the barrel, Betty Wright second, and Erin Hallows third. President Elaine announced that the lucky door prizes would be drawn later. More dancing ensued, and before we knew it, we were singing “Auld Land Syne”. Everyone joined in for this, and it was lovely to see the older set sitting on chairs in the circle, enjoying every moment. President Elaine then drew the lucky door prizes, Sienna came to collect a couple, and provided the ladies with a laugh, as she dived into the bag, only to change her mind, and go in again for something else. It was great to see such a large age range, all joining in and enjoying the spirit of Christmas.

Thank you to Ann Middleton, who made the Christmas cake and Edna Fowler, who iced the cake, and "thank you", to all who set up for the day, and cleaned up afterwards. Without you, these days would not happen.

President Elaine, and her Executive Committee, would like to wish you all, a very Merry Christmas and a happy, and healthy New Year.

See you all on the 10th January, 2017.
